  • Neuropathic ulcers are diabetic ulcers

While neuropathic ulcers are most commonly seen in diabetes, not all cases of neuropathy and the resulting ulcers are caused by diabetes.

You would code them as a non-pressure ulcer and the neuropathy with the cause of the neuropathy if known

Other causes of peripheral neuropathy include:
    Renal failure without diabetes
    Trauma
    Surgery
    Hansen's disease
    Spina bifida
    syringomyelia
